About Us

The story of the Goop Guys is not your typical Aussie business story.

What started as a small idea quickly grew into a successful and fully fledged business operation, as founders Shane and Kirstee set about to rectify a big problem in the building industry.

Before starting Goop Guys Shane and Kirstee owned a builders cleaning company called Dustbusters QLD. This is where they saw first hand that surfaces like windows, window frames, bath tubs, benchtops and flooring, were being scratched and damaged during the construction process using conventional methods of protection.

Realising that the building industry was dealing with the expensive problem of having to replace premium surfaces, Shane and Kirstee decided there had to be a better way, and they set about creating a commercial grade surface protection system.

It wasn’t easy, but they persevered, and after hundreds of trials and engaging Chemists to help formulate a product suitable for commercial application, what we know as ‘Goop’ was born.

Goop is a temporary surface protection coating system designed specifically for builders to help save time and money, and increase customer satisfaction.

Goop products vary greatly from other forms of protection in the marketplace because they are user friendly and genuinely non-hazardous. The water-based solution is non-Carcinogenic and is very environmentally friendly, so much so that it can be disposed of in general waste.

Made right here in Australia, Goop is by far the leading choice when a Paint On – Peel Off protection solution is required.

Goop is a proudly Australian, family-owned business with a strong reputation. The business has grown from a sole trader operation in 2001, to a national franchise operation and our Franchisees continue to Goop thousands of projects every year.

Bathroom happiness starts with Bath Goop

During building and construction, some of the most costly mistakes happen in the bathroom, just after expensive baths and bathroom accessories have been installed. Bath Goop was specifically designed to protect bathroom features from waste and building debris.
